In the European Union the only thing any member will ever be remembered for is what they did for the European people, and what the European people gained. The European Union is the Worlds largest and most influential political and economic block. The European Union has enormous influence in the World, and since 2016 that influence has grown significantly.
When the United Kingdom is involved with such a block, at such a level, we expect to be represented by the finest minds available, with experience, knowledge and international savvy. The kind of minds that can take on any subject and give a coherent response that not only fairly reflects and serves the interests of the British people, but fairly and voluminously reflects the interests of the populace of the European massif.
But what we got, and presented to the World, was a circus of far right stupidity and paranoid conspiracy theorists clumsily tossing about whatever garbage they had picked up in the minuscule and parochial English Parliament, a place with a culture, a temperament and a belief system that can hardly be described as Internationalist.
I do not see, in any of the people in this video, anything remotely and even vaguely close to the kind of representational behaviour I would expect of such a powerful and coherent institution. None of the people in the video arguing, pontificating and grandstanding have any argument that actually relates to the European Union, nor any argument that relates in any way to any part of the World we all inhabit. Yet these people were constantly publicised at the time, endlessly broadcast on the news, and tirelessly promoted to an audience that had no way of rationalising what was being said and why.
I see no argument, methodology, reasoning, capacity nor logic in any part of the far right belief system that tells me the United Kingdom left the European Union in the public good or with the public interest in mind.
And if I can see this, that is immediately 60% of the rest of the country that can see it too.
